The Department of Agriculture h.is received tho following cablegram, dated February 14, from tho High Commissioner for New Zealand. London:—"Hemp: Manila market stronger (UiriiJK this week; good business has been done at higher prices. J grade, shipments to be In January or February or March, and In February or March cr April opened £74 10s, and at the close of the market sold £7B, £79. New Zealand markets firm but little doing. Hlghpolnts, shipments to bo in January or February or March, sold £."9; closing quotations were: On spot, highpolnts £Ol, fair £59; shipments to bo in aJnuary or February or March, £59 and £56 respectively. Honey neglected at this week's public saks; 2739 packages wer.'c offered from various countries, but practically all were withdrawn. Llttlo business has been done with Now Zealand privately at abcu £5 5s per cwt. "Wool market continues active, demand is good; fine descriptions dearer."
