Then; wag keen competition 'and high prices were received, ranging throughout between £5,000 awl £«,U(JO for draft stock offered. The top price for a stud Romney ram wi'.s ISO guineas, the high average of [!(> guineas being maintained throughout. TJie cattle were .1 splendid lot also. Prices of heifer calves ranged to 127 guineas, and for bull calves 05 guineas. The former averaged 70 guineas, and the latter 47 guinea's. Australian buyers were successful, but the bulk of 'the stock was bought by Southland breeders.
