Under the War Legislation Act the minimum rates for engine-drivers have bean fixed by the Arbitration Court as follows: First-class certificate 14s 2d per day, second-class 13s 2d, traction certificates 14s 2d, firemen and greasers 12s Bd, plus Is per day additional for getting up steam, youths 18 and under 1» yjd per hour. Brewery employees, raaithouses and brewery laborers-£3 7s Cd a'week for the first three months, £3 10s afterwards; bottling store, £3 fis and £3 7s 6d respectively; casual labor, Is 10d per hour; bonus under the Act, 4s per week. • Metal worker, furnacemen, etc.—la OJd per hour, all others Is fld per hour; bonus 3}d per hour.
