Japan is erecting a powerful wireless station at Fukushima in order to relieve the congestion in wireless communications on trie present Japanese installa-tion—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. New York, Feb, 13, The Washington correspondent of the New York; Times states that Mr. Davis (Assistant Secretary to the Treasury) outlined a plan to Congress by which interest on United States ninety-five hundred' million dollars loans to foreign Governments would be deferred for three years, after which the debt will be refunded into fifteen years bonds, deferred interest being paid in fifteen annual instalments. The United States would thus forega interest upon three years deferred interest. Mr. Davis asked Congress to approve the plan.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. OFFICERS SENTENCED FOR TREASON. Received Feb. 15, 5.5 p.m. Athens, Feb. 13. Colonel Metaxas, convicted of high treason on a'charge of surrendering Fort Rupel to the Bulgarians, was condemned to death, and General Wmnanis, a member of the General Staff, to penal servitude for life for acting in German interests! during the wai'.-rAus.-N.Z. Gaby Deslys' will bequeaths ten million francs to her mother and sister during their lives and afterwards to the town of Marseilles for the assistance of tlie poor.
