It was unanimously decided to endors3 the suspensions.
NEWS AND NOTES. The Egmont meeting proved easily the most successful the Club has ever experienced. Everyone expected that the meeting would give Stratford's second tote figures a great "shake," but few expected that the two days' total would be in the vicinity of £90,000, and this despite the deletion of ti.o 10s tote, which the Club had reluctantly to forego owing to the lack of facilities. However, when the comprehensive scheme of improvements is brought Into being ample provision Will be made in the new totaliaator house for the sgnalt investor. It is astonishing how investors will wait to see what the other fellow is going to do before backing their own par* ticulat fancy. The result is that despite the utmost care on the part of the tot# officials, money is shut out, and investors growl. The Hawera tote officials were quite paternal, and if any one's money was shut out on Wednesday and Thursday it was the investor's own fault, for every opportunity waa given, the clock being put on a few minutes, with the result that the last race each day was three-quarters of an hour late, and southern patrons had to leave by the special train before the last race. This -was the only defect in an otherwise perfectly run gathering. Caretaker Morse deserves congratular tiong regarding the state of the course. Surveyor, after winning the Stakes from Silver Link, returned to the birdcage lame and was unable to otart neit day. It is reported that he will not sport Bilk for some time. The Auckland contingent got a good innings, Taiamai winning on each "day and Lord Kenilworth scoring comfortably on the second day, after running nowhere the first day. This complete reversal of form was not appreciated by a large section of the crowd and was afterwards reviewed by the stewards who, however, found no cause to take action, The winning owners were as follow: Hon.
