IMMORALITY ALLEGED.
GIRLS IN THE 1 AIR FORCE. By Telejraph —Press Assn.- CoDjr'ght. Received Feb. 13, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 12, Colonel Bersey waa awarded £2OO damages in the action for libel against Miss Douglas Pennant, arising out of the allegations that he connived at immorality in the Women's Air Force.—Aus.N.Z, Cable Assn.
The report of the Select Committee, which inquired in*o the circumstances of Miss Violet Douglas Pennant's dismissal from the position of commandant of the Women's Royal Air Force, announced the following unanimous findings:— "We find the accusation that Colonel Bprsey desired that immorality should continue at Hurst Park Camp to be untrue.
"We find the accusation that General Livingston and Colonel Bersey desired by, improper means to allow to continue a state of things under which night passes were given to young girls by, among other persons, Colonel Janson, under which they were taken to London in Government motor ears and brought hack, often drunk, in the early hours of the morning, and the accusation that, such a state of things ever existed, to bo supported by no evidence whatever,"
