•A RECORD MOTOR TRIP, (By Wire/—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. A cat driven by Mr. W. S. Miller made k reeofd run from Auckland to Wellington to-day. It left Auckland at 3 a.m. knd rlMtthed. Wellington at eight minutes patt 7 ptn. The route was via Hamilton, Te Kuitf, New Plymouth and Wanganui. The distance covered was 445 miles, and the running time was 14 bouta 8 minutes. Mr. Miller was accontp4nied by two mechanics. lilt party had an arduous trip. The Wont itretch was from about forty miles aouth of Auckland to the Taranaki border. The roads in this stretch were Mtttstively bad. The wheels sometimes tank in rut* till the body of the car touch*! the road surface, while at other timH the car hounded from t.illock to hollows go violently as to throw the men out of thtir seats. The average tpetd wa» over 33 miles an hour, and the car heat the express train time handHomely.
