By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright; London, Feb. 11. , Commander von Haase, senior ginnery officer of the Derflinger, has published a book in Berlin giving details o' the Jutland battle.- The battle was entirely fortuitous. The High Rea Fleet teent to sea to cover a big raid on Eritl-h Shipping and did not expect to find the Grilld Fleet at sea. - The Derflinger concentrated on the Queen Mary, but when the range- opened to 10,000 yards the .German guns were outranged. When they closed in the Indefatigable was blown ,up by the Von der Tann's fire. The writer pays a high tribute to the Queen Mary's superb gunnery. She fired full salvoes at a fabulous speed till she blew up under the Derflijnger's FalvoesThen the four Queen Elizabeths arrived *l)d th«ir loin, guns had a tremendous effect. These four at one time engaged the whole German fleet- ' Twilight found the Hermans half encircled 4>y the British, so the battleeroisers and -torpedoers were-ordered to (Kttte the enemy to cover the retreat of file, rent of the fleet. The rierfiineer. leading the battle-cruisers, met a veritable tornado of fire, shell after shell rrashed into the Derflinger. and the flame* penetrated the ammunition room. TKjs cartridges only burned, and did not explode, proving the ship's «plvct:on. Darkness saved the battle-cruisers from fcbtolute destruction. Commander von Haase adds: "There was crreat relief when next morn ins; the Mttny wait not sighted, for with our baturn slips and otir ammunition almost gohe wo could not have fought victoriously.
