THE WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Press Asm.—Copyright, London, Feb, 9. At tho wool sales 10,533 baits were catalogued, of which 3478 were New Zealand. There was a moderate selection, (rood attendance and fair competition. All good merinos were 5 tier cent, above the January closing advance. This was entirely due to American and Japanese operations owing to tlio favorable exchange. Inferior wools were generally 5 per cent easier, fine and medium crossbreds wore unchanged, low shabby sorts were mostly neglectcc' and largely withdrawn owing to the big Government reserves.
