CHAMPION AWARDS. Dnnedin, Feb. 11. The Otago A. and P- show, which is usually held during the last week of November, opened to-day in ideal weather'. The entries totalled 780, which is 100 in excess of last year. In Clydesdales, James Patrick's Baron Bold, 10 years old, was champion in the male division, aiid Fleming Bros.' Springfield Stamp was reserve champion. Mr. Patrick's Twilight was champion mare, and liis (llaek Silk was reserve champion. In Hereford cattle, L. C. Hazlctt gained (lie championship in bulls, and J. M'Lean (Black Mount) in cows. In the Channel Island breed Bernard Tripp showed the champion bull, and Mrs. Hellyer the champion cow. Other champion awards wore:—Ayrshire.?: Archibald Gillies (Hampden), bull; Allan Gait (West Plains. Southland), cow. Shorthorns: Angus Campbell (Wyndham), bull and cow._ Red Polled cattle: Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, bull and cow. In Border Leicester sheep, T. S. Little annexed the champion and the reserve champion in rams and ewes. English Leieesters, R.' J. Andrew (Maheno). champion in rams; William Kennedy (Otaulau), reserve chaniDion. In ewes, Mr. Andrew penned the champion and the reserve champion. Lincoln ram: New Zealand and Australian Land Company's Moeraki Estate, champion and reserve champion, also champion and reserve in owes. Romnew Marsh: Murray Bros. (Clydevale), champion and reserve in rams and ewes. Sonthdowns: Ram, W. Kennedy, champion ; and 11. -T, Andrew, reserve champion- Tn ewes, the champion and reserve went to .Air. Andrew. Corriedales: Ham. New Zealand and Australian Land Company's Moeraki Estate, champion in rariv: James Ross, champion in cives; and New Zealand and Australian Land Co., reserve champion.
