MOKOIA. (From A Correspondent). A large audience, representative of all denominations. gathered in the Public Hall to bid farewell !o the Grant Cowan and his wife and child, prior to their departure for Auckland Mr. Grace's concert part.y from Hawera, assisted by Mr N'.rong, giive a brigh' and entertaining programme, after which Mr Main, speaking on behalf of tho Non-conformist church ppnji-e, mado eulogistic refeivnces to the good qualities of the departing guests Mr. T. JJ. Bio.kfnrd, vicar's warden, after endorsing the remarks of the previous speaker, handed to Mr. Cowan a chequo for a substantial amount as an expression of the resard and affection in which the' people of Mokoia and district held the reverend gentleman and his wife. Mr. Grant' Cownn, in appropriate words, returned thanks for his wife and self, offering a hanrty welcome in his new home to all his old friends, should they at any tlmo visit Auckland. Dancing was then Indulged in till the call of the cows reminded the young ones that time and tide —particularly the cow time—wait for no man.
