VALUE OF A WIFE.
POINTS IN DIVORCE LAW. AN INTERESTING JUDGMENT. By Telegraph.—Presj Assn.—Copyright, Received Feb, 12, 9.40 p,m, London, Feb. 10. Sir Henry McCardio, in tho Divorce Court, in an important considered judgment regarding the damages to which a husband is entitled when his wifo is lured away, laid it down that damages should be based on,the following considerations:— (1) The actual value of a wife to a, husband ' na a housekeeper or a help in his business. (2) Proper compensation for injury to a husband's marital honor. (3) If a wife was of a wanton dfe* position this lesßeijed her value, (4) Damages should not be given against a co-respondent who was nob aware a woman was married. A wifa who poses as single must be" deemed valueless, A Court had no right ta punish her conduct, pud damages should not be punitive. Sir ' Henry McCurdie said a woman could not sue another woman for taking her husband-away.
