WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE.
DOMINION CONFERENCE IN NEW PLYMOUTH. OPENS NEXT WEEK. The Dominion Conference of the New Zealand Women's National Reserve, which is to be held this year in NewPlymouth, commences on Tuesday next. The delegates will arrive by the mail train on Monday night, and will bo met by the Mayoress (Mrs. .7. Clarke), the President (Mrs. C. 11. Burgess) and members of the committee. Among those expected are Mrs. Porter (organising secretary), Miss Shepherd (secretary of the honorary division), Mrs. Boden (secretarv of the Crippled Soldiers' Hostel, Wellington), Mrs. Corliss (Dominion president, Wellington), Mrs. Hope (recording secretary of the Dominion council), Mrs'. Ahearne (mothers help division), Mrs. Branting (Dannevirkc),, Mrs. Goring (Hastings), Mrs. Taylor*(Te Awa.mutu)', Mesdames Grey and Goth (Gisborne), Mrs. Wood and secretary (Christchurch), [Mrs. Cuthbert (Stratfoid), Mrs. Taylor and one other delegate (Hawera), Auckj land delegates, two representatives of the nursing division, from Wai[tara, and, for the local branch, Mesdames C. H. Burgess, J. Clarke, T. C. List, and Miss Sole. Mias J. R. Barr is representing the junior division of the New Plymouth ' >-anch. On Tuesday~i -ring it ia proposed to take the delegjit l " for a drive around New riymoutir, vis' ,ing the various beauty spots, while; 1U " the afternoon Mrs. Burgess will entertain them to a garden party at her residence at the Meeting of the Waters.
The conference will he formally opened at the Borough Council Chambers (which have been very kindly lent for the occasion) by the Mayor (Mr. J. Clarke) on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock.
On Thursday evening the Mayoress (Mrs. J. Clarke) will entertain the delegates and all members of the reserve at a social at Kawaroa Park, when several of the representatives will deliver addresses on matters concerning the reserve and its work during the war. Mrs. T. C. List and the committee will be hostesses on Friday, the delegates visiting Maranui for afternoon tea. The Soldiers' Club and Pukekura Park will also be visited.
It is expected that the conference will not finish till Friday afternoon, as many •natters of great importance have to be discussed.
