Colonel Betsey's libel action lias opened against Mis 3 Violet Douglas-Pennant, arising out of allegations that he connived at immorality in connection with the Women'st Air Force. Miss 'Pennant denies publication, or alternatively pleads privilege—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [Miss Pennant held senior rank in the Women's Air Force during the war. She made serious charges: of immorality and drunkenness amongst young girls in the service, and a House of Lords Committeo which inquired into the charges found that thev were absclute'T groundless.]
