Thirty-two passengers and the crew were rescued by lifeboats.—Aus.-X.Z. Cable Assn, Received Feb. 8, 11.45 p.m. New York, Feb- 7. Thirty-two passengers and twentyeight of the crew of the stranded steamer Princess Anne were taken off in police boats. Forty-four of the crew were left on board. Rescuers fought ice and heavy seas for hours. The weather is moderating and tugs are trying to pull off the vessel. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
