"To buv German goods now," said Mr. S. L. P. iiimmer at Auckland, "is to increase her power to repeat what, she did in this Avar." To emphasise his argument against those who said that militarism having been destroyed in Germany, Britain should now extend the hand of fellowship, Mr. Rimmer told the fable of the man who was bitten by the viper he had succoured. Replying to the socialistic arguments, he recalled the fact that before the war the French socialists' had asked tho German socialists if Ihey would agree to stand asirlo if war was declared. "But," he added, "the German socialists would not promise. Germany as a people are responsible for the war, and they now lived for revenge against Britain."
