FROZEN MEAT.
CLEARING OF THE STORES. A COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Feilding, Feb. A large meeting of farmers last nighi carried the following motions:--That this meeting calls upon the New Zealand Government to urge on the British Government the serious position which will arise in this Dominion with the lifting of the requisition of meat, and to impress upon the Imperial Government the necessity of clearing all meat from the New Zealand stores at the end of their contract, or to continue the purchase until such time that they are able to do so, and to announce its policy at the earliest possible moment an< l s^e h°">v they will meet the position which will arise on June 30. A further resolution was carried as follows:—That this meetipg urges upon our Government the advisability of sending to England at the earliest possible date the commission as at present constituted, namely, Dr. Realces, Messrs. Poison, Burrell and .Tones, for the purpose of assisting the Government to solve the question of the disposal of our meat.
