AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Feb. 5. The result of the 440 yards swimming championship was: Ross 1, Beaurepalre 2, Wallace 2. The winner's time was smlu. 19 4-5 sec, a world's record. At the last hundred yards Ross had the race well In hand and finished strongly S l-ssec. ahead of Beaurepalre.
