The Washington correspondent of the Hew York World states it is reported the Republican leaders in the Senate plan to have the Treaty ratified with the Lodge reservations slightly modified. This plan is based on the a'asumption that there is enough of the Democratic vote to carry ratification.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. VISCOUNT GREY'S LETTER. PRESIDENT'S REPORTED ACTION. Received Feb. 5, 10.55 p.m. New York, Feb. 5. The Washington correspondent of the New York Tribune states it is rumored that President Wilson is considering sending informal representations to protest against Viscount Grey's letter, to the British Foreign Office. It is said President Wilson considers the letter an attempt on the part, of the British authorities to inject themselves into the political situation in the Senate arising from the Treaty frght. Mr. R. Lansing (Secretary for State) declined to comment on the rumor.— Aris.-N.Z. Cable Assn. VOTES IN THE LEAGUE. Received Feb. 5, 10.20 p.m. Washington, Feb. 4. Senator Johnson, in the course of a statement, said: "I intend bringing up again in the Senate my amendment to tlw League Covenant, by which the United States will also have six votes in the Assembly of the League."—Aus.-N.Z.
