The Auckland City Council's auxiliary dam at Nihotupu is being constructed at a fairly satisfactory rate. It 1.1 anticipated that this dam will "be raised to its full height by about the end of March, at a cost of between £II,OOO and £12,000, when storage accommodation will be provided for 110,000,000 gallons of water, one half of the capacity of the Waitakere works. With the completion of the two dams in the Nihotupu Valley, the city will have in this valley alone a supply of 650.000,000 gallons.
