MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

I YESTERDAY'S SITTING. (Before Mr. T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.). A sitting of the. Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth was held yesterday, when the following business was transacted: — CIVIL CASES. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the case of Weston £nd Billing (Mr. Ronald H. Quilliam) V. Tafiurangi, £25 18s Od (costs £3 18s). POSSESSION OF DWELLINGS. George Waters (trustee in the estate of the late Matthew Andrews), for whom Mr. A. A. Bennett appeared, applied for an order for possession of a dwelling occupied by.-yFrcdl:. C. Clarke, and also sued for £lO 7s arrears of rent. An order was made for possession to be given in one month, and judgment entered for the amount of the rent unpaid, and costs amounting to .01 ISs. On the application of Doeg (Mr. C. H. Croker), F. L. Russell (Mr. H. B. Gibson) was ordered to deliver up possession of a dwelling house in 14 days. Mr. Gibson sought, under the provi- j sions of the Housing Act of 1919, to prove flat defendant would suffer the greatest hardship if lie had to vacate the house, but the Magistrate declined to accept this view. LAND AGENT'S LICENSE. Francis Dodunski, New Plymouth, was granted a land agent's license, Mr. C. H. Weston appearing in support of the application.
