The possibilities of intensive cultivation on small areas has been demonstrated by a (nan who makes a good living off 12 acres on the line of the GisborneMotuliorn. railway. Mr. C. F. Bennett, of Auckland, who recently motored through that district, states that the man in question milked no fewer than 18 cows off hfs 12 acres. He accomplished this- by growing lucerne, which he cut and fed to cows in th« ptwiiosks.
