IMPERIAL STATISTICS. By Telegraph.—Press Aasn.—Copytieht. London, Jan. 27. The Imperial Statistical Conference is discussing, inter alia, improvements in trade statistics, and the advantage to the Empire of accurate and complete data, especially regarding the control of raw materials and food production in the Empire, and the establishment in Loudon of an organisation to arrange tor the collection and dissemination of all requisite material. A committee is working out the details arising from the decisions of the conference.—Aus.-N.Z. Coble Assn. AERIAL EXPLORATION. . Paris, Jan. 22. Three French military tri-planes have started on a pioneer flight to Timbuktu across the Sahara, touching at Algiers and Biskra Tea Tesnou. The project is considered militarily important. ALLEGED TRAITORS. Talis, Jan. 20. A court-martial has opened on seven soldiers who were charged with assisting the enemy. The men were mostly deserters who returned to France and acted as spies under the direction of the famous "blonde lady of Antwerp," the cleverest German organiser.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BRITISH IN THE CAUCASUS. London, Jan. 24. The Daily Express learns that no Britisli or Allied troops are going to the Caucasus or North Russia. The British troops now in the Caucasus will be withdrawn.
