HEAVY FINES INFLICTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copytlght. Gisborne, Last Night, At Tekaraka, Police Court, Watene Peneha, Tawa Ruru, Tarepuhi, and Bobert Henry Smith were charged with playing "two-up" at Whatatutn, Ruru was fined £3O, Peneha and Tarepuhi £25 each, and Smith £lO. Frederick Hal Crookes and J. Irvine were charged with playing '''two-upf', at Kalteratahi. The accused pleaded not guilty on the ground that the game had not been played.in a public place. The, Magistrate reserved his decision. ■ 1
