HAMILTON MARKETS. The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Company report:— Beef.-—Beef is offering In considerable quantity throughout the district, but owing to the uncertainty of shipping freezing buyers are unable to operate with the coniidenco that was displayed a month ago. Values have, nevertheless, been fairly well maintained. Mutton Mutton is affected similarly to beef, although Oib offerings at the sales have been small. Pat lambs.—The position in this class has been reversed. At the present time the question Is not so much who will get the lambs as who will take them. It is, however, to be hoped that shipping relief will soon bo obtained—as long continued delay must havo serious results. Store cattle.—This class has shown a hardening tendency. Contrary to expectation woaner calves are advancing rapidly and reports from back districts Indicate good prospects. Store sheep.—Store sheep continue firm and there is overy likelihood of brisk business at the approaching fairs. Rape lambs—Business oontlnues brisk in this line— indeed, all classes of lambs find ready sale. Pigs.—Manv outside buyers havo been operating during the week and bacon .pigs have experienced a sharp advance. Weuners are still dull. Prices last week were as follows: Bullocks, heavy prime £l7 to £2l 59, medium £l4 to £lO 10s; cows, prime fat £l2 10s to £l4, medium fat £ll to £l2 10s; heifers, fat £lO 10s to £l2; bullocks, 4-year-old £ll to £l2 10s, 3.year-old £9 to £10; cows, fresh conditioned £8 to £9, good £7 to £B, old and low £3 to £5 10s; steers. 2Vi-yenr-old £6 10s to £B, yearlings, host £4 to £3. medium £2 10s to £3, small £1 10s to £2 ss; heifers, 2-year-old In-calf Shorthorn £3 to £B, yearlings, best £3 10s to £4 10s, medium £2 10s to £3 10s; dairy cows, best £l2 to £ls 10s, ordinary £8 to £lO 10s; dairy heifers, bes! 3-year-old £9 to £ll 10a; wethera, prime shorn 34s to 38s Cd, medium 29s to 325; ewes, prime shorn 30s to 34s 3d; shorn ewes with lambs, young 25s to 30s, f.m. 22s Od to 235; shorn wethers, 4-tooth 28s to 31s, 2-tooth 21s to 245; pigs, baconers £5 10s to £7, slips £3 to £4, weaners £lO to £l3; horses, heavy draught £4O to £SO, medium draught £32 to £4O, light draught £24 to £3O, harness £ls to £23, hacks £lO to £lB.
