JAPANESE PRINCE ILL. By Telcffcnpb— I'.-fSs Assn.—Cowrlcht. New York, Jan. 23. The Tokio correspondent of the New York Herald reports that Prince Yasuhito, the second son of the Emperor, is seriously ill from influenza, an epidemic of which is at present sweeping Japan.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. JAPAN'S REPRESENTATIVE IN BERLIN. Washington, Jan. 23. It is announced that M. Katsuji Debuehi, Consular officer at the Japanese Embassy, has been appointed Charge d'Affaires at Berlin. M. Debuchi is at present ill from influenza, but he will leave upon recovery.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PLEBISCITES IN GERMANY. Paris, Jan. 22. It is understood France has taken over a large part of Britain's obligations to send troops to police the plebiscite areas in Germany and elsewhere. Instead of eleven battalions only three British battalions are going to Silesia and Schleswig —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
JUGO-SLAV PRIESTS. Rome, Jan. 23. The Vatican is »ceeiving alarming reports of the attitude of tin; Czechoslovak priests towards the Church of Rome. Three thousand Bohemian priests recently seceded and the movement is spreading in Poland and Jugoslavia, where priests' clubs arc being formed.
