(From Our Own Correspondent.) (All communications, letters, etc., left with Mr. H. J. Hopkins, bookseller, will leceivt prompt attention.) Jan. 16. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. A. Forbes, of Wharehuia, will regret to learn of the death of their thirteen-year-old son. The Empire Hotel, Stratford, has changed hands, and the new proprietor, Mr. Barr, of Wellington, will take over shortly. A farewell social and dance to Messrs Christoffel and Coleman will be held in the Pukengahu School on Thursday nest.
