Mutton, fine 109s, other 104b: beof, fine 118s, other 102s. Thß Government requisition rate for freight wheat ex Australia will be raised when the present contract expires at the end of March. The extent of the rise la not yet known. Shipping circles anticipate that the new rate may be 140s. At the wool sale's there waß an average selection of merinos and prices were firm. On Tuesday 20th, at Stratford. There was a sitytU yarding and prices were: Bulls £lO 5s to £l6 17s 6d, good forward cows to £lO 6s, 2-year steers, bad colors, £4 lis Gd, dairy cows £lO 15s. Also on 20th, at Manala, there was a good yarding, and a good attendance of buyers; a quick sale resulting. At Inglewood, on Wednesday 21st, there was a good yarding of sheep and cattle, and nearly everything changed hands at satisfactory prices.
