AUSTRALIAN DETECTIVE HONORED
Received Jan. 25, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan- 23. Detective-Sergeant Brennan, after Ave fears' special police service with the Australian forces in Egypt, France and England, returns by the Osterley tomorrow. In recognition of the harmonious relations during his close co-opera-tion with Scotland Yard the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department presented Detective Brennan with a gold watch. In an interview Detective Brennan said' the general behaviour of Australians in London was exceptionally good. All Australians serving sentences were now repatriated. A PRIVY COUNCIL CASE. In a New Zealand appeal case, the Union Steamship Company versus Robin, the Privy Council intimated that they did not desire to hear respondents further at present and reserved judgment. —Aus.-N.Z. A committee including Lord Burnham, Lord Sydenham, Sir Percy Scott, Mr. Andrew Fisher and prominent scientists, has been appointed to organise Mr- J. L. Cope's Antarctic expedition. AEROPLANES FOR AUSTRALIA. Received Jan. 25, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 22. The allotment of a hundred aeroplanes, which the Imperial Government is presenting to Australia, will now be completed.-Aus.-N.Z.
