Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., who has been on a visit to Wellington, returned to New Plymouth on Saturday night. Mr. Adam Pickering, of Pickering, Sagar and Leece, who has been a/way for nine months on a trip to the Old Country, returned to Howera on Thursday night. Mr. Pickering made full use of his time while in England in seeing mid learning all he possibly could of the motor world. —Star.
A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Catholic Church, Opunake, on Wednesday, January 21st, when Miss Eileen Mason, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs F. W. Mason, of Pihama, was married to Mr. Douglas Dcs Forges, of Opunake, the Rev. Father .Schaefer officiating. A telegram from Duncdin reports the death of Dr. Leonard Hugh Mcßride, a well-known eye, ear, throat and nose specialist. The deceased was born at Frank ton near Queenstown, 32 years ago. He graduated at Otago University and took a keen interest in sport ns president of the Otago Boxing Association. He married in England and he leaves a widow and two children.
