STAR CLUB'S MEETING. . At the Soldiers' Club last night Jfe. Allen presided over an enthusiastic meeting of members of the Star Motof i Cycle Club, one of the results of which was that £57 was guaranteed \ in connection with the forthcoming yac- i ing meeting, to hi held on theTara- ; > naki Jockey Club's racecourse on Marchif 0. ' .n An attractive programme was ar» ranged, consisting of eight events. Pot the Novice Handicap and Member*' 1 Handicap trophies will be provided* while cash prizes, ranging from £C3; for the winner of the,big event (New ■: Plymouth Handicap) 'to £5 in the Consolation event, liberal prize-money being given to the second and third competitors. Two of the eventa carrj prizes of £lO, £3 and £l, and two of, £9, £3 and £l. A prize o! £6 will, also be awarded for the fastest time ii'j the big event. n The prospects of a successful meeting; seem assured, provided the weather irs favorable, and the committee intend t« spare no effort over the arrangement* Details of the competitions will be notified in due course. ..
