Mr. Raymond Fosdick, Under-Secre-tary-General to the League of Nations, lias cabled to Sir Eric Drummond his resignation on the ground that the uncertain position of t.he United States in the League makes the severance necessary. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. INTERNATIONAL CREDIT. Washington, Jan. 20. It is announced that the International Bankers and Exporters' Association has completed plans for the organisation of an international credit clearing-house, through which American goods will be exported on a system of long-term credits. AMERICA AND PEACE. New York, Jan. 20. Senators Johnson and Reed, in speeches, declared that no further compromise in the treaty should be made by the Senate beyond the acceptance of Mr. Lodge's reservations. CANADIAN VICTORY LOAN. Ottawa, Jan. 20. The total subscriptions to the Canadian lfllfl Victory Loan amounted to (>52,032,215 dollars. The Government is likely to accept 650 millions.
