DISTRICT NEWS.
OKATO. (From Our Own Correspondent.) An excellent concert was given here on Tuesday evening by Mr. F. Amoore and company. There wa:; a good attendance, and the entertain'meni \v;is generally acknowledged by those present one of the best held locally. Mr. Amoore is an Australian tenor with a pleasing voice of excellent range, while his enunciation is particularly good. He was very successful in all his items, notably so In "A String of Pearls" and Tosti's 'Bood-bye." Several of his songs were greatly enhanced by violin obllgalos played by Mr. Roy Murphy, of New Plymouth, who also played several solos during the evening In a pleasing manner, and for each he was encored. Mr. Farmer gave six humorous items, which caused much hilarity. Mrs A. George played the overtures acceptably, and with Mr. Murphy, supplied the music for the dance which followed,
