BOWLING.

DOMINION TOURNAMENT. RESULTS OFTHE FINALS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Except for the semi-finals and final matches _in the singles championship, which will be played to-morrow morning, the Dominion bowling tournament came to a conclusion this evening. The weather was favorable for bowling in the morning when further eliminating rounds of the singles championship were played and in the afternoon, before a large number of spectators, the finals of the rink and doubles championships took ftlace. These were two hard contested matches. The Wanganui rink, skipped by A. P. Lundon, which has played consistently well throughout the tournament, won the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association's championship banner on the last head by one point, but throughout the game, which took four hours to complete, the northern men nearly always had the advantage over their opponents. A splendid exhibition of bowling by Tilley served more than anything else to give Wanganui its winning position. Except for. Stewart, the Dunedin's third, the losing rink did not play up to its usual form. Dunedin was five down at the end of the nineteenth head and Stewart purposely burnt when his rink wag lying one up. On the head being replayed Stewart secured one and Harraway two shots, making the score: Wanganui 18, Dunedin 10. In the last head Dunedin's lead and second were lying to advantage, when Tilley scattered the head, leaving "kitty" close to the ditch, and Harraway succeeded in only drawing one short bowl.

In the doubles game the stores seesawed until the nineteenth head, when Spi]ler gained and maintained the leadUnlike the rinks game the pairs were not afraid to take risks, and the contest between Stratford (Lyons and Smart) and Sydenham (Turnbull and YV. Splller) was more interesting to watch. At the end of the last head the score was 19—10 in Sydenham's favor, and a good drawing by Lyons gave Stratford's skip an opportunity to pull the game out of the fire. Spiller, by a lucky shot, displaced the Stratford bowls and scored two. the game ending 21—10. The results of the play were:— SINGLES COMPETITION.
