BOLSHEVIKS AND I.W.W.'s.

To the Editor. * s artlcla appearing iu your Friday's issue emanates from a sane brain. Just precisely to i ol fl. you refer w^ien you mention Bolsheviks, I.W.W.'s, excrosences and many other words of similar import? Your violent outburst seems to -me to be directed against the working classes of this community and their elected leaders, who are holding a caucus in Wellington. 1 quite understand that the New Zealand Tories are suli'-interest-ed enough to be very much annoyed at any suggestion that their stolen privileges should be curtailed, but I cannot believe that many Tories can support proposals that all people holding advanced and intelligent political Ideas opposed to their own. reactionary and material heritages, shall be subjected to deportation, Imprisonment and other sorts of autocratic force* such as you suggest. The fanners und workers are rapidly getting fed up with thu chaos that exists as the result of the Incompetence and ignorance of prcseut politicians, and you will bo well advised to recognise the principle that love begets love and hatred begets war. You talk about industrial peace, yet use tho words in the midst of a vindictive whirlwind of absurdity directed agaiaat the workers of Uils community. Just remember the fact that the workers of this country have as much brains as the autocrats, and that if you attempt to approach conciliation on the lines indicated by your leader you and your ilk are likely to get a thick ear, and one that will last. The only strong Government which will arise in New Zealand (and in other countries) is the Labor Government, and It is well for you that Labor does not believe in Tevenge, otherwise' you might find yourself hoist with your own petard.—l am, etc., P. P. Kail. Moturoa, 15th January. (All tills wild farrago because wo commended the deportation of anarchists 1 The Government could go further and with considerable advantage to the country deport move of those who are stirring up strife, causing trouble, and seeking to overthrow democratic government. They would be more in their element in Russia, to which country they might well be assisted.—Ed.)
