MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Taranaki A. and I'. Society was held on Saturday. There were present Messrs W. B. Grant (president), A. E. Washer, H. C. Sampson, C. Fuirbrother, E. C. Stanley, E. Jackson, J. A. Kurth, A. J. Luxtou, B. Ucmeylield, N. W. Hill, W. iVlelvenzie, Hv. King, S. A. Campbell, W. K. Morria, a. ■ Smith. A. T. Moore, J. Smellie, JF. Dodunaki. The action of Messrs Graut, Dobson and Hoskin i n authorising the erection ot feeding racks in the cattle pavilion and the action of the president in getting flag poles made and purchasing nags were confirmed. The matter of members' badges for ■the Autumn Show was referred to the president and secretary to attend to. •the secretary was authorised to communicate with the Railway Department with a view to having a special train service on Show Days, and special excursion fares. i
Some discussion took place on the advisability of continuing the field root acreage competition on account of the small number of entries. It- was eventually decided to continue the competition for the present, year.
