NO GREAT LOAN TO BRITAIN.
DENIAL IX AMERICA. Vancouver, Jan. 2. Mr. Robert Lansing, American Secretary for State, branded as a malicious lie the story published in New York and Chicago that the United States had pledged a £3,000,(100,000 loan to Britain. "It was a despicable piece of business," said Mr. Lansing. The story was that Viscount Grey had made it his chief business to arrange (lie loan, and the details would be arranged by Sir George Paish, who has just reached New York. Sir George Paish issued an indignant denial to-day.
