THE MEAT MARKET.
THE COMMANDEER QUESTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Representatives of the frozen meat companies of New Zealand waited upon the Prime Minister and urged that, in the event of the meat commandeer not being extended, he should press for a clearance of the works before the opening of the ensuing season. Mr. Massey said he would do so. He added that he had no definite information from the Imperial authorities in regard to their intentions. Before withdrawing, the deputation expressed a hope that the meat commandeer would continue for another reason.
