A HAND TO HAND STRUGGLE. By Telegraph.—Prers Assn.—Copyright. Delhi, Jan. 14. Advices received from Kotkai on January 10 state that our covering parties, while constructing picket posts, were attacked and driven back after a hand-to-hand struggle, in which the enemy suffered heavily. The post was not established on the 11th. Colonel Lucas' brigade moved out to re-camp near Gurlamakaeh and seized the-hills and a plateau overlooking the enemy, who were additionally surprised when Colonel Gwyn Thomas' brigade occupied a post overlooking Amnwitanzi. The tribesmen retreated, enabling cur forces to picket the hills.—Atis.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
