CAPTURE OF KOLTCHAK. IMPRISONED BY BOLSHEVIKS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 14, 7.40 p.m. Helsingfors, Jan. 13. The Bolshevik delegation at Dorpat have received wireless advice that the Bolsheviks captured Irkutsk and imprisoned Koltchak with his entire staff.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE FATE OF IRKUTSK. DENIAL OF ITS CAPTURE. Received Jan. 14, 7.40 p.m. London, Jan. 13. A Mosco wireless message proves the falsity of the assertion that the Bolsheviks had captured Irkutsk. The Bolsheviks are actually advancing beyond Krasnoyarsk. If Koltchak is a prisoner he is probably held by social revolutionary Mensheviks, who are heading a local revolt.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE OCCUPATION OF IRKUTSK. REVOLUTIONARIES HOLD THE TOWN. Received Jan. 14, 0.35 p.m. Peking, Jan. 8. Social revolutionaries hold Irkutsk. They took possession after Semenoff's troops were driven out of the station, leaving 170 dead. Fighting is reported at Vorkdendinsk. Allied commissions have reached Missovaia and Lake Baikal. Other foreigners are attempting to leave Irkutsk, but are prevented by lack of locomotives. They are now protected by Japanese troops.— Reuter Service. UNITED STATES TROOPS. PROMISE TO WITHDRAW THEM. Received Jan. 15, 1.5 a.m. New York, Jan. 12. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times states that Mr. R. Lansing (Secretary for State) has informed Japan that United States troops in Siberia, totalling nine thousand, will be withdrawn, probably before the middle of March.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
