THE RARAWA. The Rarawa arrived from Onehunga yesterday morning and sailed again for the north on the arrival of the mail train last night. The vessel is due hare again on Thursday morning with the New South Wales State Orchestra, but sails at the usual hour on Friday night. Captain Bark, who is on holiday, leave, is being relieved temporarily by Captain Dorling. THE ROSAMOND. The Union Companj's vessel Rosamond arrived hero cariy last evening from ,Wellington with general cargo. THE BADEN POWELL. The Baden Powell will load general cargo at Wellington to-morrow for New Plymouth, arriving here on Friday. She will return to Wellington on Saturday. MATJNGANUI AND MAKURA. It is understood that the Maunganul will! replace the Makura on ihe Sydney-Aucklond-Vancouver run for the two or three montns j while the latter will be out of commission. The. Niagara now takes in oil at Honolulu,! and it is presumed that the Makura, when j converted, wiii do likewise. It is aUo stated that in ihe near future the Tahiti will be! converted into an oil-consuming vessel. The work of re-conditioning and converting the Marama and Maunganul has been considerably delayed, owing to- a shortage of suitable labor, and it will be some time yet before either vessel will be ready fOT sea.
