APPLES FOR BRITAIN. By Telegraph—-Press Assn.—Copyrleht. Received Jan. 10, 1.45 a.m. London, Jan. 7. It is expected there will be large arrivals of American and Canadian apples in England well into May. The International Apple Shippers' Association estimates there was equivalent to 30,000,000 cases in storage in the United States and Canada at the middle of De-cember.—Aua.-N.Z. Cable Assn. AUSTRALIAN FRUIT TRADE. Received Jan. 10, 12.45 a.m. London, Jan. 7. The recent statement that the Port of London Authority had placed a special wharf and other facilities at the disposal of the Australian fruit trade is described as incorrect. Mr. Lloyd George entertained tho Prince of Wales at Downing Street at luncheon for the purpose of meeting Signor Nitti (the Italian Premier).
