THE RECOUNT COMPLETED, CONTINUANCE MAJORITY, 2968. The chief electoral officer has announced as follows tho result of the Taranaki recount:—Continuance, 2780; State Control, 320; Prohibition, 4407. This completes the official recount of the votes registered in the different electorates; and, with only 508 votes to come, the totals now standi Continuance <•..,.;.. 240998 State Control ~. 32'148 Prohibition r....,,.... 270,178 f Continuance majority 2,968 The 508 votes still to come are those from transport Kigoma (311), due at Wellington nest Tuesday, and the transport Ruapehu (187), due at Auckland on January 29th.
