DENIKIN'S FORCES RETREAT.. THE ADVANCE ON ODESSA. Received Jan. 8, 9.25 p.m. London, Jan. 7. The Bolsheviks have reached the sea at Azov, thus dividing Denikin's armies. The Bolsheviks have commenced'" a definite advance on Odessa over a broad front. In Odessa the population is panic-stricken as a result of the capture of Dvinsk, which contacts with the Polish, Lettish, and Esthonian operations.— Times Service. OFFENSIVE BY THE POLES. BOLSHEVIKS.ABANDON DVINSK. Received Jan. 8, 3.20 p.m. London, Jan. 0. A Bolshevik wireless message says the Polish army has begun an offensive with a view of relieving the pressure on Denikin. The message adds that the Bolsheviks have abandoned Dvinsk. Meanwhile, the offensive against Denikin continues to make progress, Trotsky has issued a manifesto, calling the Cossacks' attention to the plight of Denikin and Koltchak. Trotsky offers to overlook the past if they now side with the Soviets, and he suggests holding a Cossack Congress to discuss the matter. —Aus.-N.Z- Cable Assn. BOLSHEVTKS CLAIM SUCCESS.
