A NEW ENEMY FOUND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tauranga, Last Night. What is* considered a new disease has made its appearance in local orchards, giving fruitgrowers some concern. Departmental officials at Wellington, after examining specimens, think it might ba brown rot and advise as to temporary treatment, but they have made no definite pronouncement, as an expert if not at present available to make a thorough uivestigation. Pear trees ara principally affected, in some orchards seriously. Apple trees are also attacked, especially at the Government horticultural station, and peaches slightly. Orchardists feel the matter demands prompt attention by the Qotf eminent.
