STRATFORD RAILWAY STATION.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Most country people* would, no doubt, prefer the station to remain where it is, but a change has evidently got to be made if present facilities are to be maintained and extended. We are not in the habit of interfering in matters which concern the town alone, but this is a different question on which the Department has stated its wishes and possible course of action. Should a position arise which would be likely to thwart the department's wellconsidered scheme, it would seem right that the country authorities should take a hand to safeguard farming interests.
