EVERYBODY'S. LOUISE GLAUM IX "SHACKLED." "Shackled," a drama featuring Louise Glaum, is a skilful presentation oi the I play written round the familiar figure of the lady with a past. The story possesses its full quota of high lights, with excellently maintained suspense from first to last. Miss Glaum plays the role of the woman whose shackles are broken through her own love and sacrifice, with that sincerity and depth of feeling that are always to lie found in her work. She is as thoroughly at home in (lie character of the lady who is sinned against, as she is in that of the lady sinning. A competent cast supports the star. The episode of "Wolves of Knltur" is incltufed on the programme which shows to-night and to-morrow at, Everybody's. '
THE EMPIRE. LAST NIGHT OF "THE SENTIMENTAL BLOKE." "The Sentimental Bloke" again drew a crowded house at- the second screening at The Empire last evening. It is a picture for everybody and there is not a foot at which the most captious moralist or puritan could cavail. And yet it does not prose or preach. The. story unfolds itself naturally—"the bloke" and "Doreen" are true as fresh air and open waters, it is in truth the picture event of a decade. To-night will be the last opportunity of viewing this picture in New Plymouth and its safe to say the theatre will again be packed to the doors. Patrons desiring t seat, in comfort should reserve during the day at Collier's. "The Sentimental Bloke" will be screened at the Theatre Royal, Waitara, next Saturday.
