TARANAKI SHOW.

SCHEDULE FOR MARCH EVENT. Schedules of the Taranaki Agricultural Society's 45th annual stock show, to be held at the Waiwakaiho Showgrounds on March 3 and 4, are now in circulation, and copies can be obtained on application to the secretary, Mr. W. P. Okey. P.O. Box 19, New Plymouth.

The classification has been considerably extended, and includes many new features. In the section for ponies two additonal classes have been added, one for ponies 13 Lands and under, and one for ponies over 13 and under 14.2 hands that are being ridden regularly to school by children. Both classes have been included at the suggestion of Air. I!. D. Climie, who has generously provided the prize money for each class.

A special prize of £0 will be awarded the champion harness pony. In the competitions there will be an inter-provincial hunters' event on the first day, the prize-money being £lO, £3 and £l, and on the second clay the champion hunters' compel''inn lias been endowed with the following iniz'js:—First £SO, second £lO, and third £,">, vliilst the winner will also hold for the ensuing year the Hawkins and Smith Challenge Cup. It should be noted that half an inch will be allowed for shoes on all measured horses and ponies.

In the cattle section there are numerous valuable clips and special prizes to be competed for, and these should be the means of attracting record entries. The New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association and Mr. J. Hodges, of Rapanui, have donated special, prizes to the Milking Shorthorn section, Mr. A.' A. Ward has donated a 12-guinea trophy to the pedigree Frjesian section, and Mr. J. W. .T. Gardiner a trophy of similar value to the Jersey section. The Taranaki Ayrshire Breeders' trophy will also be competed for in the Ayrshire section.

Mr. R. I''. Cornwall has donated a special prize of il'A for the cow with best milk veins and udder, and a class has been opened for Jersey calves entered in the First Taranaki Jersey Oaks, the prizes having been donated by Messrs. J. S. Jones, J. Polletti, G. Bell, and C. W. Ruabe.

Mr. A. ,1. Luxton has donated a £lO Ids challenge cup for the best two dairy cows, any breed or cross, and Mr. K. Jackson's challenge cup for champion dairy cow, any breed or cross, will again be competed for. In all cases where a championship is awarded, exhibitors will also receive a «sitiflcat4
