TYPOGRAPHERS' AWARD.
NEW CONDITIONS FILED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Arbitration Court has filed an amendment of the Typographers' Award, under which all journeymen except pieceworkers are to be given a bonus of lis fid per week, in lieu of the existing bonus of 7s Gd and the pieceworkers' bonus of 4s a week. From January 1, 1920, the hours of work of men employed in the hand section and those who at present work 48 hours per week in the machine section, shall be reduced to 45 hours per week. On Saturday night special editions work, an hour, or at piecework rates, shall be paid nl the rate of 3s 6d, at the option of the employer, with a minimum of 7s 6d. Hand pieceworkers shall he paid an additional 3d per 1000 overtime rates. The rates for machine workers are increased to time and a half for the first three hours and afterwards. For handwork and .jobbing work, overtime is time and a half for the first three hours and thereafter double time for wage hands and rates and a half for pieceworkers.
