Owing to increased railway freights imposed at the beginning of the year ■Boskina' Lithgow ironworks have stopped, idling 750 employees. The Railway Commissioners are considering a re-adjustment of freights, failing which over 1000 will be idle. POTATOES CHEAPER. Received Jan. 5, 10.20 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 5. Owing to the arrival of inter-State shipments, the price of potatoes has dropped £2 per ton. TORRENTIAL BAINS. Received Jan. 5, 10.20 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 5. There have been further torrential rains in the coastal and highland districts. The inland districts have benefited to a less extent.
